Art of Living conducts stress free teaching workshop

JAMMU, Jan 13: Art of Living Jammu Chapter conducted first ever stress free teaching workshop with staff at Army Public School Dhar Road, District Udhampur.
The workshop is being designed by Art of Living Foundation founded by Sri Sri Ravi Shankar.
Sunil Sharma, senior faculty from AOL Udhampur conducted the workshop.
“In every school it is a common refrain that something must be done for the betterment of students, but we hardly hear about doing something for the betterment of the school staff in general. Stress free teaching was interactive workshop for teachers, designed by Sri Sri Ravishankar Ji, founder of The Art of Living Organization”, Sunil Sharma said.
He added that there are four main kinds of stress that happen during school hours to all the teachers. All the various kinds were covered one by one. Reasons were discussed and practical solutions on how to come out of it were shared.
The four main reasons of stress were physical stress due to the nature of the work, emotional and mental stress, stress due to students, stress due to relations with colleagues and boss, Sunil Sharma explained.
As an Art of Living Teacher, the speaker recommended 15 minutes meditation sessions for all the delegates in the morning and in the evening with an aim to impart relaxation at the beginning and end of the day’s proceedings in the conference.
He also recommended conducting free light yoga classes for the delegates each morning and said that practical techniques will impart first hand knowledge will be a lifetime experience for them.
“This workshop has been conducted in thousands of schools worldwide in more than 155 countries where the Art of Living has a presence. Benefits of the workshop are to make teachers learn how to cope up with daily stress during the school hours, improve work efficiency and quality of work along with enhancement in skills and better relationship among colleagues”, Sharma added.
