Army’s signal centre gutted in Baramulla

SRINAGAR, Apr 20: A signal centre of Army’s 19 Division in Baramulla district was today gutted in a major fire, official sources said.
The official sources said that at around 5:45 am, massive fire broke out in a wooden Army barrack used as signal centre in Baramulla. They said that the nine-room barrack was completely gutted in the fire even as fire-tenders rushed from civil and Army stations to the spot to douse the fire.
“In the fire, the barrack was extensively damaged, as well as communication equipment of the signal centre,” the sources said, adding that there was no loss of life or injury to anyone.  The cause of the fire is being ascertained.
