JAMMU, Feb 28: An Army officer died today due to electrocution in Akhnoor area of city outskirts.
According to a police official, a Naib-Subedar of Army identified as Ravi Kumar son of Prem Chand, resident of Naidi Bala, received severe electric shock after coming in contact with a live wire during construction work of a shop.
He was immediately rushed to Army Hospital, Akhnoor, where he was declared as brought dead by the doctors. The body of the deceased was shifted to Sub District Hospital, Akhnoor for post mortem while Akhnoor police had initiated inquest proceedings under Section 174 CrPC in the case.
