JAMMU, Mar 26: All Jammu Kashmir Panchayat Conference (AJKPC) condemned the conduct of National Conference MLA, Javed Ahmed Rana in the Legislative Assembly wherein he lowered the dignity and showed utter disrespect to the Speaker.
“It is highly unfortunate that a senior legislator like Javed Ahmed Rana has showed utter disrespect to the Chair of Speaker by communalizing the post. The member should bear in mind that the post of Speaker in Legislative Assembly and Parliament are above party politics and community in a democratic set up. By using such inflammatory and communal remarks, Rana has not only hurt the sentiments of the people of all the religions but also exposed the real face of his party”, Anil Sharma, AJKPC president said in a statement issued here.
We are living in a sensitive State and being a responsible representative of the people, the NC MLA should have avoided communalising the post of Speaker, Sharma said, adding that his statement has exposed the real face of the National Conference.
He asked the former Chief Minister and Leader of Opposition in Legislative Assembly Omar Abdullah to tender a public apology for highly obnoxious and communal remarks of his party’s MLA against the Speaker Kavinder Gupta.
