AIKS Trust gives scholarships, SSST presents certificates of merit

JAMMU, Aug 6: All India Kashmiri Samaj (AIKS) held an impressive function at Press Club, Jammu to distribute scholarships amongst the students of Govt Higher Secondary School, Jagti, selected by adopting merit and means criteria.
This is one of the AIKS Trust initiatives to help the community children in the field of education, a soul of the community’s existence in exile. Some of the other projects undertaken by the Trust are sports, culture and Human Resource Development.
The function was presided over by the President AIKS Vijay Aima. The guest of honours were M.L.Raina, Commissioner, Relief and Rehabilitation (Migrants) and Moti Koul, vice president, State BJP. The others who occupied the podium were M. K. Pajan, general secretary, AIKS and Santosh Ji, Principal, Government Higher Secondary School, Jagti.
The key note address was delivered by the general secretary, AIKS, M. K. Pajan. He apprised the gathering about the activities of AIKS and AIKS Trust.
Moti Koul lauded the new initiatives of AIKS and AIKS Trust. He appreciated the students for their hard work to be meritorious.
The Relief Commissioner, M. L. Raina complimented the students of the community to excel in education, despite living in hardship and facing enormous problems.
Vijay Aima, in his presidential address spoke about the existing and future programs of AIKS and AIKS Trust.
He advised the students to be competitive in education. Education was the prime factor of our survival post displacement from the valley.
Aryan Romesh proposed vote of thanks.
In another simple and impressive function held at  Samaj Sudhar Samiti Trust, Durga Nagar near here the meritorious students from displaced families were given the certificates of merit and mementoes for their outstanding performance in the Board Examinations.
The students who were awarded included Vikas Bhat, Akshita Dhar, Mahima Raina, Ashish Pandita, Kamal Shangloo and Prayul Raina.
M L Raina chairman of the Trust, Prof A N Sadhu vice chairman of the Trust and Kuldeep Raina Trustee were present on the occasion. In his address M L Bhat threw light on history of the Trust while Prof Sadhu advised the students to work hard and with commitment to achieve higher goal in the life. He asked the students to make excellence in life their goal
