JAMMU, May 29: All India Backward Classes Union (AIBCU) held a meeting at Sunderbani in Rajouri district under the chairmanship of Madan Verma, tehsil president in which Prof Kali Dass, general secretary was the chief guest.
Capt Ramesh Kumar was the guest of honour who appealed the State Government to solve all the problems of State OBCs including the meaningful functioning of Backward Classes Commission and OBC Advisory and Development Board. All present in the meeting unanimously resolved to go for agitation if the Government failed to provide justice.
Jammu provincial president Sandokh Chand and State secretary Master Sain Dass appealed the State OBCs to remain united to achieve the goal. They also appealed the State OBC leaders in different political parties that if they are there, they must raise the OBC demands from their respective political parties. If such parties object over such matters, they must kick such parties.
Prof Kali Dass explained that reservation has not been given by any political party but is the sacrifice of Dr Bhim Rao Ambedkar who sacrificed the communal award and reservation came as the result of Poona Pact.
He added no doubt representation/ reservation provisions are there in the Indian constitution but Pandit Nehru, the first Prime Minister of the country did not implement the Kaka Kalekar Commission’s report and thereby cheated the OBCs of the country.
He suggested a simple formula for unity by reaching the fixed place of meeting and not to sit in their homes as in democracy this is the only formula to sideline the opponents.
All the participants unanimously decided to organize a big rally in the open in the near future. Madan Lal Verma presented vote of thanks. Prominent among others who shared their views included General Singh, Jasbir Singh, Koushal Mehra etc.
