Agitating Contractual Lecturers apprise Minister of their demand

JAMMU, Aug 8:  The agitating Contractual Lecturers (10+2), who are on hunger strike for the last 176 days, today apprised the Minister for Consumer Affairs and Information, Choudhary Zulfkar about justification of their demand  of regularization.
The Contractual Lecturers explained that Minister how their case was fit for regularization as per the Civil Services Special Provision Act 2010, a legislation passed for the regularization of all the Ad-hoc/ Contractual/Consolidated employees.

The members of All J&K Contractual Lecturers (10+2) Association, led by  their president Arun Bakshi, met the Minister when he was coming out of the Press Club Jammu after a ‘Meet the Press Programme’, this afternoon.
As the Minister told the aggrieved Contractual Lecturers that they could not be regularized in view of their services being contractual in nature, the latter explained that they were not appointed on academic arrangements and hence come under Civil Services Special Provision Act 2010. They also produced documentary evidences in support of their case.
Later, the Minister assured to take up their demand before the concerned authorities for positive consideration.
Earlier, the agitating Contractual Lecturers held a strong protest demonstration near the venue of chain hunger strike and raised slogans against the State Government as well as in support of their demand of regularization.
