ABVP demands separate PSC for Jammu-Ladakh

JAMMU, May 11: Alleging discrimination in selection process for various Government jobs, the Akhil Bhartiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) has demanded separate Public Service Commission for the Jammu and Ladakh regions.
The demand was made by ABVP State secretary, Varsha Jandial,  while addressing a  press conference  along with State joint secretary  Mustafa Ali and Jammu Mahanagar secretary Deepak Gupta,  here today.
Quoting example of recently released selection lists of Assistant Professors, Varsha alleged that the PSC was  treating Jammuites as well as Ladakhis as dumb people and    Kashmiri students as  only literate  in the State who could qualify the interviews of PSC. “There is almost negligible representation to  Jammu and Ladakh regions. It clearly  depicts that there is something fishy in the matter as till written results, majority number was  from Jammu region but after  the final stage of interview,  ratio differs at large which is not understandable,” she explained
The ABVP leader stressed  that there should be no further delay for separate PSC so that students of these two regions may  not left behind and suffer economic empowerment due to discriminatory approach of the persons at the helm of affairs. “Till the separate PSC is formed, CCTV cameras should be installed for recording of interviews so that transparency could be maintained in the system,” Varsha said and also threatened to launch a mass agitation if ABVP demands are not considered.
