6 gamblers held by Udhampur police

JAMMU, Aug 1: Police arrested six gamblers along with Rs 16,500 stake money and playing cards from MH Road here today. As per police sources, on specific inputs, police party from Udhampur police station conducted a raid near MH Road and arrested six gamblers along with Rs 16,500 stake money and playing cards. The accused have been identified as Mohammad Riaz, son of Mohammad Alam of Chekherh, Inderjeet Sharma, son of Hem Raj of Billian Bowli, Anil Kumar, son of Bhywan Singh of Jakhani, Mubarkh Mohammad, son of Sharief Mohammad of Pancheri, Sanjeev, son of Prem Nath of Ramnagar and Vishal Singh, son of Jodh Singh of Jakhani. A case under Gambling Act has been registered at Udhampur police station and investigation started. Police team headed by SHO Udhampur Police Station Mahesh Sharma made the arrest under the supervision of DySP Headquarters Gourav Mahajan and SSP Udhampur Mohammad Suleman Choudhary.
