35 injured in road mishap

SAMBA, Dec 4: Thirty five persons were injured, 15 of them critically, when an overcrowded vehicle they were travelling in turned turtle in Samba district today.
The accident occurred when the mini-bus, that was on its way to Kotah village from Patyari, turned turtle in Nichla village in Ghagwal area of the district, a police officer said.
He said 35 passengers were injured in the mishap and they were admitted in District Hospital Samba for treatment.
He said 15 persons with grievous injuries were later shifted to Government Medical College and Hospital, Jammu for treatment.
A case has been registered and investigations initiated, he said. Police said the mini bus was over crowded. The driver and conductor of the mini bus fled after the accident.
