SRINAGAR, Aug 6: Three militants of Lashkar-e-Toiba were trapped tonight in Samboora area of Pampore in district Pulwama by security forces.
On a tip off about the presence of militants, Army’s 50 RR, SOG and CRPF launched a cordon-and-search operation at Akram Dar Mohalla, Samboora in Pulwama tonight.
As the joint team intensified the search operation, the militants believed to be three in number opened fire triggering an encounter.
The exchange of intermittent firing is going on. Residents pelted stones on the security forces but Police fired tear smoke and dispersed the stone pelters.
