JAMMU, Mar 12: Three gamblers along with stake money of Rs 9,730 were arrested today from Sidhra area.
“A police party of police station Nagrota during patrolling in the area received information through reliable sources that some persons were playing gambling at Sidhra area”, a police official said, adding the police party rushed to the spot but seeing the cops, gamblers tried to escape.
“However the alert cops managed to nab them after a chase and recovered stake money of Rs 9,730 from them. During questioning the accused disclosed their name as Rakesh Sharma son of Ashok Kumar, Jagdish Kumar son of Ram Saran and Sanju Kumar son of Madan Lal, all residents of Asrarabad (Sidhra)”, he added.
In this connection, all of the accused persons were arrested under specific provisions of Gambling Act.
