SAMBA, June 11: Vijaypur police arrested three drug peddlers and recovered 1.150 grams poppy straw from their possession, a police official said.
The arrested persons have been identified as Gulshan Sharma, son of Bansi Lal of Randwal Ghagwal, Rohit Singh, son of Narinder Singh of Sanoora Ghagwal and Rameshwar Singh, son of Yashpal Singh of Sanoora Ghagwal. The truck (dumper), which was being used for the transportation of the consignment, has also been seized.
A case under FIR Number 83/18 under Section 8/15 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Vijaypur and investigation started.
Police team led by SHO Vijaypur Inspector Suraj Pathania made the arrest under the supervision of SDPO Vijaypur Baljeet Singh and SSP Samba Anil Magotra.
