3-day long Maha Yagya underway at Kailash Dham

JAMMU, June 11: The three day long annual Maha Yagya is underway at Kailash Dham Chinore near here.
The Yagya started yesterday afternoon with Maha Rudra Abhishek in which a large number of devotees drawn from different parts of Jammu participated. The Maha Yagya is being performed under the supervision of Prof A K Ogra, a well known scholar.
The Maha Rudra Abhishek was followed by solemnizing of Yagya in which the Pandits from Rishikesh Haridwar recited the mantras.
The hawan will culminate tomorrow with purnahuti and this will be followed by serving of prashad to devotees. Solemnizing of Maha Yagya on the occasion of Zesht Ashtami is the annual feature at Kailash Dham said Prof Ogra.
He said this Maha Yagya has a great significance for the devotees. Prof Ogra while giving religious discourses said since the establishment of Ashram the Yagya is being performed every year and people from different parts of country participate in it.
He also highlighted the various objectives of the Sanstha and said that besides propagating the religious philosophy, it is also devoted in social work.
He said the Sansthan with the help of various philanthropists has decided to establish an institute to help the students of displaced Pandit community in preparing themselves for various competitive examinations. “In addition to this it is working to establish a professional college for the betterment of the community children”, he added.
The function was also attended by Justice (retd ) B L Bhat, chairman of the Trust Ashok Kachroo, Trustees Ashok Sharma, and C L Razdhan, president Sampooran Kashmir Sangathan Rakesh Kaul, social activists, Inder Kaul, Rakesh Ji ,ex Sarpanch Nana Ji , M K Thaploo and others. The devotees also participated in Bhajan and Kirtan.
