3-day book exhibition begins at CUJ

JAMMU, Feb 20: The Central University of Jammu has organized a 3- day book exhibition at its Temporary Academic Block (TAB), Sainik Colony, here today.
The exhibition was formally inaugurated today by the Academic Coordinator of the Central University of Jammu,  Prof  Lokesh Verma, who was accompanied by Prof  S K  Sharma (Professor Swami Vivekananda Chair), Dr  D L  Choudhary (Incharge – Yoga Centre), Prof  N K  Tripathi (Head Department of Animal Sciences and Wild Life; Plant Science)  Prerna (Assistant Librarian – TAB Library) and  Romesh Chander (Assistant Librarian – Main Campus Library).
Speaking on the occasion, Prof  Lokesh Verma said that good books are the gateway to knowledge and book fair plays a very significant role in reiterating the might of the pen and the printed words, so such book fair should be the routine affair in the Educational Institutions.
About thirty one booksellers and publishers from Jammu and New Delhi have displayed their books in the exhibition. The book suppliers includes Radha Krishan Anand & Co., Rising Sun, Oberoi Book Services, Researchco Books & Periodicals, Star Educational Books, Academic Book Centre, Rajkamal Prakashan, The BookSeller, Indica Publishers, World Scientific Publishers, Segment Books Supplier, Amazon Book Supplier, Shankar Book Agency, Shree PRL Books, Pearson, Techniz Books, Sage Publisher, Universities Press, Panima Books, Himalaya Publishing House, Oxford University Press, VIVA, Wiley, Orient Blackswan, Pranay Books, Metro Books, Atlantic Publishers & Distributors, etc.. The participating publishers and book sellers in the exhibition focused on diverse disciplinary areas such as Environmental Sciences, Language and Literature, Mathematics, Computer Science and Technology, Travel and Tourism Management, Human Resource Management,  Educational Studies, Hindi, National Security Studies, Public Policy and Public Adminis-tration, Mass Communication and New Media, Sociology and Social Work, Philosophy, Supply Chain Management, Economics. A great response to the exhibition was marked amongst faculty members, research scholars and students of the University.
This is second book fair organized by CUJ  with  an objective of promoting reading habits among the students and faculty about the wide range of books.
