RAJOURI, Sept 26: At least 28 persons were injured, some of them seriously, when an over loaded mini-bus turned turtle in Qila Darhal area of Lam sector, in Nowshera this evening.
Official sources said that mishap took place when the ill- fated old model mini-bus, bearing registration Number, JK02R/ 2487 was on way to Lam Laroka from Nowshera town. Over 30 passengers were travelling in 16- seater mini-bus. Some of them were sitting on root top while a few hanging on the back stairs of the vehicle. When the vehicle reached near Qila Darhal, it went out of control at a curve and fell into a gorge. It took several turns and then stopped.
Immediately after the mishap, the people of the area rushed to the spot. The police party from Nowshera also rushed there along with two Ambulances. The injured were shifted to Sub District Hospital, Nowshera. Four of them were later referred to GMC Hospital Jammu for specialized treatment.
