BHADERWAH, Sept 20: Twenty two people have fallen prey to the water borne disease ‘diarrhea’ in various parts of the tehsil.
As per reports, 22 persons have fallen ill due to diarrhea in various parts of tehsil Bhaderwah. Contaminated water is believed to be the reason behind the outbreak. Most of the cases have been reported from Udrana, Gatha, Dandi and other parts of the Bhaderwah town.
The infected patients are under treatment at Sub District Hospital (SDH), Bhaderwah and some are referred to Doda, Jammu and Pathankote.
The residents of these areas have held Public Health Engineering (PHE) Department responsible for the spread of the disease.
When contacted, BMO Bhaderwah, Dr Yudhvir Singh Kotwal confirmed the spread of diarrhea and said that around 22 patients have been suffering from the disease.
He added that every day 5-6 patients are coming to hospital with diarrhea, adding that “We are providing proper medical care to the patients and casual leave of all doctors stands cancelled”.
“As the infection is water-borne, the people have also been advised to drink boiled water. Door-to-door medical check-up of people especially the children were being conducted to ensure that the infection does not spread further”, he stated.
