JAMMU, Sept 20: Vice Chancellor of Kalyani University Kolkata Prof (Dr) Rattan Lal Hangloo today describe Kashi Nath Bhagwan as an institution who had vision ahead of his time for a constructive change and development in the society.
He was addressing a function at Government Women College Gandhi Nagar here this afternoon in connection with release of Bhagwat translated in to the Kashmir Poetry by late Kashi Nath Bhagwan. The function was organized by Shri Kashi Nath Bhagwan Memorial Trust.
Prof Hangloo said that the initiative of entrepreneurship being taken today has been started by Mr Bhagwan during his younger days when he started with a typing institute and other skill developments projects from his residence.
Terming Mr Bhagwan a great visionary, a revolutionary writer, a renowned poet and an great scholar, he said the late writer imparted skill development raining to his children to make them self reliant and competent to face the future challenges in life boldly so that they can become the best entrepreneurs.
Prof Hangloo said that what he learned at Harvard University later was practiced by Mr Bhagwan during his life time.
About 17,800 verses have been translated by late Kashi Nath Bhagwan, a first attempt by any Kashmiri writer to give poetic form to Bhagwat.
It was released by Somawati, wife of late Kashi Nath Bhagwan, Swami Gangeshananda, Acharya, Chinamayanad Mission, Prof. Rattan Lal Hangloo and Swami KumarJi.
Later an opera based on ‘Faqir Koor’, was also staged while a CD of his Bhajans was also released during the function.
A website of the Turst was also launched on the occasion by Dr. Hangloo. Faqir Koor was directed by Kuldeep Sudeshi while Asha Zaroo, Prakrati Sharma and Arvind tickoo acted in it. The lights were arranged by Ravinder Sharma.
Earlier Brij Nath Betab a veteran TV journalist read a detailed paper on Bhagwan Sahib and his writings which was written by late Prof Bushan Lal Kaul a veteran scholar.
Piaray Hatash a well known writer also threw light on life and works of Bhagwan while Deepali Wattal enthralled the audience with her melodious voice.
The stage was managed by Ashok Kumar Raina Yaksaan.
