2 lakh perform darshan at Budha Amarnath shrine

POONCH, Aug 30: Over two lakh devotees visited the Holy shrine of Budha Amarnath ji at Mandi in Poonch district during this annual Yatra which concluded here today.
The Charri Yatra along with holy mace returned to the Akhara Mandir along with a large number of Sadhus and other people in large number from Mandi here this morning. A grand religious concluding function was held at Akhara Mandir in which a number of people from Poonch city and adjoining areas were present. Deputy Commissioner Poonch Nissar Ahmed Wani, SSP J S Johar, ASP Amit Gupta and several other district officers, local sitting and former legislators also witnessed the occasion.
Sanatan Dharam Sabha members led by Satish Sasan and Akhara Mandir Committee members led by  Basant Ram received the Holy Mace at the temple. With special prayers the Charri of Lord Shiva with special prayers was installed at the original place in the temple amidst chanting of Mantras.
The Yatra Reception Committee, SD Sabha and Akhara Mandir Committee  members  during their address lauded the District Administration and officers of all the agencies for the smooth and peaceful conduct of the yatra. They said that arrangements for the pilgrims were good and this time, the yatra remained a grand success. The Committee members also honoured several district officers on this occasion.
It was officially disclosed that as per record compiled by officials at Mandi town, more than two lakh pilgrims paid visit to the Holy shrine of Budha Amarnath ji during this annual yatra. They said that apart from routine yatris from Jammu to Poonch and then Mandi next day, many pilgrims came direct in their own vehicles at Mandi and then returned immediately after performing darshan to Rajouri, Jammu, Reasi and other areas in one day.
