2 gas agency workers die of asphyxia

MENDHAR, Jan 5: Two employees of Bharat Gas agency Mendhar, who were found unconscious in their room at the agency here yesterday, died in GMC Hospital.
A police spokesman said that Wali Mohd (27), son of Mohd Sadiq, resident of Bera and driver Surjit Singh, resident of Jallas in Poonch who were referred to GMC from Mendhar hospital died last night. They were found in unconscious condition in a room at the gas agency. They had burnt a gas heater in view of cold and it remained on throughout the night. Apparently due to gas, they were taken ill and were rushed to local hospital by the manger and others at around 10 am.
Their bodies after postmortem were handed over to their respective family. It is believed that they died of asphyxia. The condition of third worker-Nitin Sharma, son of Kewal Kumar of Jallas is also stated to be serious.
