2-day awareness programme for women inaugurated

JAMMU, July 9: Two-day women empowerment and awareness programme began today at village Sadegarh in Block Bishnah of Jammu district.
Forty women of the village participated in the programme, which was sponsored by Dattopant Thengadi National Board for Workers Education, Union Ministry of Labour and Employment.
The programme was inaugurated by Choudhary Dwarka Nath, former Chairman, Social Justice Standing Committee, JMC, who spoke about various welfare schemes for girl children and women.
During the programme, many issues concerning women like women empowerment, eradication of social evils and women welfare schemes like ‘Beti Bachao Beti Padao’ were discussed threadbare by the participants.
The programme was organized by Ajit Singh Adyal, president, All J&K Pensioners’ & Civil Society Association, Jammu and conducted by MS Akhtar, Education Officer, Incharge of the programme.
