123rd anniversary of Maharaja Hari Singh celebrated with enthusiasm

KATHUA, Sept 26: The 123rd birth anniversary of Maharaja Hari Singh was celebrated with great enthusiasm at Amar Kshatriya (Rajput) Sabha Bhawan here, today. The function was attended by members of all the civil societies, religious organizations including Brahman Sabha, Amar Kshatriya (Rajput) Sabha, Kathua, Mahajan Sabha, Kathua etc.
A large number of people irrespective of caste and creed from far of villages and towns participated in the function to pay homage to Maharaja Hari Singh the last Dogra ruler of the State. Minister of Forests and Environment Ch Lal Singh was the chief guest on the occasion. Besides, the Minister the prominent people who had gathered there paid floral tributes to Maharaja.
Those who addressed the gathering included Bodh Raj, president OBC Kathua, Rattan Chand retired SSP, A K Gupta, K S Jasrotia, president Rajput Sabha Kathua, Youth president Pawan Singh Chib, Parshotam Singh, Poli Singh and Mohan Singh all Sarpanchs, Ajay Singh Andotra, Gyan Singh Pathania, Updesh Andotra of Mahila Wing. They described Maharaja Hari Singh a great ruler whose tenure was a memorable  period.
They said Maharaja framed numerous laws for the welfare of the public of J&K State. The people of the State want that Maharaja be given proper respect and Government should declare gazetted holiday on his birth anniversary.
Narayan Singh president Shri Amar Kshtriya (Rajput) Sabha highlighted the achievements of Maharaja for the welfare of the State. He presented public demands to the Forest Minister Ch. Lal Singh and urged him to take up the issue with Government for declaring gazetted holiday on September 23 the birth day of Maharaja.
Ch Lal Singh while paying tributes to Maharaja highlighted his administrative skills and achievements. He assured the people that he would take up the issue with the State Government for early declaration of gazetted holiday on birth anniversary  on September 23. The Minister honoured the meritorious students on the occasion.
