12 bovine animals rescued, 3 smugglers held

UDHAMPUR, July 4: Udhampur Police today foiled an attempt of bovine smuggling and rescued 12 animals during naka at Jakhani.
Acting on reliable information regarding illegal transportation of bovine animals, a Police party, led by SHO Udhampur, Insp Vijay Choudhary, laid surprise naka at Jakhani NHW. During naka checking, police party intercepted one truck bearing registration number JK 02AV-9681, in which 12 bovine animals were found illegally loaded.
All the bovine animals were rescued and vehicle was seized by Police, which arrested the smugglers, namely Surinder Singh, son of Santok Singh of Rangpur Balana, R S Pura Jammu, Joginder Singh son of Teja Singh of Rangpur, RS Pura Jammu and Shakeel Ahmed son of Mohd Farooq of Talwara Reasi .
In this connection, a case FIR number 307/2018 U/S 188 RPC 3PCA Act has been registered at Police Station Udhampur.
