Zulfkar exhorts youth to adopt self-employment ventures to overcome unemployment

JAMMU: Minister for Food, Civil supplies and Consumer Affairs (FCS&CA) and Tribal Affairs, Choudhary Zulfkar today attended the valedictory function of Entrepreneurship Awareness Camp at Central University Jammu.

Speaking on the occasion, Zulfkar said that establishing Entrepreneurship Development Institutes besides providing Skill Development Training to youth will create ample job opportunities in the state to curb unemployment. He exhorted upon the skilled and unskilled youth to vigorously adopt self employment ventures available under various government schemes with subsidies. “This will not only give them a good employment but they will also be creating job avenues for others as well”, he asserted.

While lauding the efforts of University Business Incubation Centre, the Minister said that it is great to see that such workshops are organised here to discuss important issues related to skill, job creation and community development.

Zulfkar said that such camps will sensitize the youth about the potential and scope of entrepreneurship in different fields. “Unemployment is an issue which needs to be pondered over seriously and the Government is sincerely working hard towards sorting out this menace”, he maintained. It is not possible and feasible to provide jobs to everyone so it becomes important that the educated youth must start their own income generating businesses, he added.

Professor Ashok Aima, Vice Chancellor, CUJ, while speaking on the occasion, reaffirmed that the Central University of Jammu is committed to develop and nurture the culture of entrepreneurship in the region and this EAC, he hoped was a step forward in this direction.
