DODA, June 29: The vegetable vendors of Bhaderwah town held protest against the Sanitary Inspector of Municipal Committee Bhaderwah accusing him of harassing and abusing their community.
Vegetable vendors alleged that yesterday evening, Sanitary Inspector of MCB namely Ashamul Haq abused and misbehaved with Tariq Hussain, a vegetable vendor without any reason, when the latter was closing his shop.
“Sanitary Inspector dragged the victim out of his shop and used unparliamentarily language”, they said, adding that the action evoked strong protest against the Sanitary Inspector with vegetable vendors observing a shutdown and chanting slogans against him and Municipal Committee.
The protesters demanded immediate suspension of the officer.
Speaking on the occasion, Naseer Mehboob Padder, President, Youth Action Committee alleged that said Sanitary Inspector always harass the innocent vegetable and fruit vendors of Bhaderwah and yesterday, he openly threatened a vendor who refused to give him free of cost vegetables.
After getting information, SHO Bhaderwah Anuroop and Tehsildar Dr Amir Zargar rushed to the spot and assured the agitating vendors that the matter would be taken up with higher officials.
