Various political parties celebrate R-Day

JAMMU, Jan 27: Various political parties including BJP, PDP, National Conference, Congress and others hoisted National flag to mark the Republic Day celebrations across the State on Friday.
State unit of BJP celebrated the Republic Day function with full enthusiasm at party headquarters Trikuta Nagar, in Jammu where state president of the party, Sat Sharma hoisted National flag in presence of other party leaders. The party members also distributing sweets and danced in front of drum beaters.
MP Shamsher Singh, MoS Priya Sethi, State vice-presidents Karan Singh, Yudhvir Sethi, State general secretary (Org) Ashok Kaul and State general secretary Harinder Gupta were also present on the occasion.
While addressing the party leaders and activists, Sat Sharma congratulated them on the occasion. He said that this is just not a routine affair, but a matter of great pride and joy for every Indian as on this day the Nation adopted its Constitution giving the true recognition of the powers to a common man.
In yet another function at party office, Kachi Chawni , “Tiranga” was unfurled by Sat Sharma along with MP Shamsher Singh, Ashok Kaul, MoS Priya Sethi, MLC Ramesh Arora, MLA Rajesh Gupta, Vice-Chairpersons Munish Sharma, Subhash Jandyal, Balbir Ram, Purnima Sharma, Dr Pardeep Mahotra and others.
Tri-colour was unfurled at City Chowk by Sat Sharma, Shamsher Singh Manhas, Rajesh Gupta, Kuldeep Magotra and others. In ward No. 30, it was unfurled by Sat Sharma, Sanjay Baru and Ayodhya Gupta whereas, at Rehari Colony by Sat Sharma. In Ward  No. 14 by State vice-president Parmod Kapahi, Bhagat Singh Chowk by Ayodhya Gupta,  while in Ward No. 40 by Sat Sharma, Sanjay Baru, Ayodhya Gupta.
MP SS Manhas also unfurled National flag at Ploura, Patoli  Chowk, Balgran and Channi Rama besides Kachi Chawani.
BJP  MP from Jammu-Poonch Constituency, Jugal Kishore Sharma hoisted National flag at Govt Higher Secondary School Jindrah in Nagrota Constituency on Republic Day announced Rs 30 lakhs for various development works.
The MP remembered the freedom fighters who sacrificed their lives for the cause of the country and said that we should feel proud for our nation. Jugal Kishore appreciated the performance presented by the students from different schools and said they should be encouraged to serve their nation with honesty.
Principal GHSS Jindrah Sunil Nanda, Ex-Sarpanch Anil Sharma, Mandal president BJP Dansal Satish Sharma, PSI Suresh, Yog Raj, Ganesh Kumar and others were also present on the occasion.
BJP MLC Vikram  Randhawa hoisted national flag at Narwal Bala, Karyanai Talab, Gorakha Nagar, Digiana, Pareet Nagar,  Trikuta Nagar,, Channi Himmat,  Channi Rama, Model Town Gangyal and Nanak Nagar in Gandhi Nagar constituency.
BJP District Unit Udhampur organized function at Talab Salliyan, Udhampur town. The function was held under the leadership of District president, Rakesh Gupta in which BJP MLC and former BJP State president Ashok Khajuria was chief guest of the function where as BJP State general secretary Pawan Khajuria was guest of honour. Khajuria unfurls the tri-colour.
The function was also attended by other BJP leaders Som Raj Khajuria, Neelam Nargotra, Sanjay Verma, Taj Ali, Anwar Hussain, Gita Devi, Raj  Thanda , Tariq Hussain, Rajni Devi, Jugal Kishore , Vikas Sharma, Ramesh Sharma and others.
Meanwhile, celebrating the 69th Republic Day, a Trianga Rally was organised by BJYM  RS Pura Unit at different places of  Suchetgarh.
The Trianga Rally commenced from Chakrohi and covered the areas included Bholichak, Nanuwali, Manna, Hansh, Dewangarh, Dewangarh camp, Jajuwali and then culminated at Chakrohi. The rally was held under the leadership of BJYM RS Pura vice president, Rinku Choudhary.
MLA Udhampur Pawan Gupta unfurled national flag  at Lal Chowk Udhampur where a large number of people   attended the R-Day programme. The sweets were also distributed on the occasion. The MLA also addressed the gathering.
BJP Unit Bhaderwah, led by Mandal president Ramneek Singh Manhas at main office in Bhaderwah city in the morning. City president Raju Charak, District vice president Raj Singh Kotwal, kissan Morcha leader Raj Singh Charak and other office bearers and party activists were also present on the occasion.
PDP’s Regional unit Jammu organised a function in connection with the Republic Day at Ganghinagar office of the party. Party general secretary and former MLC Ved Mahajan unfurled the National flag.  Prominent among others present during the function included Fallail Singh, Jatinder Bhat, RK Bali, Rajinder Manhas, Satpal Singh Charak, Capt Anil Gour, Abdul Rashid Malik, Varinder Singh, Balbir Singh,  Mohinder Kotwal and others.
Udhampur unit of  PDP also celebrated Republic Day at party office in which district president Hans Raj Kalotra hoisted national flag. The other party functionaries Dalbir Batyal, Jugal Kishore and  DP Singh were also present.
National Conference on Friday celebrated Republic Day with enthusiasm and fervour at Sher-e-Kashmir Bhawan Jammu where former minister and senior State vice president Surjeet Singh Slathia unfurled the National flag.
Greeting the people on the occasion, Mr Slathia described secular character and democratic foundations as biggest strength of India and underscored the need for preserving these by maintaining amity and harmony between various segments of society.
He reiterated the commitment of National Conference to strengthen the bonds of brotherhood and working towards lasting peace in the State.
Prominent among those present on the occasion included   Rattan Lal Gupta, Sheikh Bashir Ahmed, Brij Mohan Sharma Ex-MLC,  Mirza Abdul Rashid Ex-MP,  Gurdeep Singh Sasan,  Bimla Luthra Ex-MLA,  Deepender Kour Ex-MLC, Haji Mohd Hussain, Dr Chaman Lal Ex-MLA,  Dharamveer Singh Jamwal, Ch Wali Dad,  Abdul Gani Teli,  Vijay Lochan, Ayub Malik ,  Dilshad Malik,  Reeta Gupta, Rashida Begum and others.
District Congress Committee Jammu (U) led by Anil Chopra hoisted National flag at Bakshi Nagar, Gujjar Nagar and Bagh-e-Bahu today which was attended by a large number of people.
Speaking on the occasion Mr Chopra threw light on the importance of Republic Day. He paid rich tribute to the heroes of country for their freedom struggle and sacrificing life for the nation. He recalled the sacrifices of  its great leaders and many other freedom fighters who sacrificed their lives to liberate India from foreign rulers.
The PCC also organized a function at party office, MA Road Srinagar and unfurled national flag.  Senior party leaders and workers were present on  the occasion. They also recalled the services of top Congress party leaders and other freedom fighters.
PCC vice president and former Minister Raman Bhalla unfurled tri-colour at Babber Chowk Sainik Colony. He along with former Corporator Jai Singh  and  a large number of retired Army officers and locals of the area also paid tributes at Shaheed Major Ajay Singh Jasrotia at the park.  A bike rally was also organized in the area.
Senior Congress leader Mohinder Kumar Bhardwaj unfurled national flag Tara Chak, Bishnah, Reva in Arnia  and village Ratanal Bishnah to mark the Republic Day. He  was accompanied by  Ashok Dubey, Ratan  Lal, Capt Mir Chand, Sub Vijay Kumar, Kirpal Singh and others. He recalled the supreme sacrifices made by the great leaders  and others in the freedom struggle.
In Samba, PCC organizing secretary, Sanjeev Sharma unfurled tri-colour at the party office in presence of many party functionaries and  office bearers.
NCP state unit led by state president, Thakur Randhir Singh (former minister)  unfurled the National flag at  party office near Bus Stand and paid tributes to freedom fighters and other national heroes. He also addressed the gathering and recalled the supreme sacrifices made by the countrymen. Senior leaders  KK Digra, RC Bali, MA Ali Chisti, Bharat Bhushan  and Sakinder Kumar were also present on the occasion.
At Ramnagar senior Congress leader Vinod Khajuria and NC leader Subhash Kudyar jointly unfurled national flag at Rani Park. A large number of  locals and party activists of NC and Congress were present.
Nationalist Democratic Party (NDP) also organized function at party office Trikuta Complex BC Road Jammu, where party president, Ravi Bakshi unfurled national flag. Several party functionaries were also present on the occasion.
Janata Dal secular unit Jammu also celebrated Republic Day at Raghunath Bazaar here today. Party president Mast Nath Yogi unfurled the National flag. Party vice president Ram Rattan Sharma hoisted tri-colour at Nagrota in present of local residents and some party activists.
