US Ambassador to India Kenneth Juster visits Leh

LEH, July 10: US Ambassador to India Kenneth Juster visit Druk Padma Karpo School Shey popularly known as Rancho School.
The school student and staff led by Principal Stanzin Kunzang gave him warm welcome with traditional light music with Dram Nyan instruments. Principal gave brief introduction of the school and later Ambassador took round of school and inspected Math Lab, Science Lab, Arts Room. Ambassador gave American ambassador batch to school.
Later Ambassador also visited Hemis Monastery where Head Lama of Monastery Thuksey Rinpochey and Chakzot Nawang Otsal and YDA President Rinchen Wacher gave him warm reception. Thuksey Rinpoche briefed him about various activities of Hemis Monastery and Live to Love various social activities.
Ambassador also visited Mahabodhi International Meditation Centre (MIMC) Devachan Campus and interacted with Founder President MIMC Bhikkhu Sanghasena and students from US who are on an annual exchange program at MIMC. The Ambassador also visited various humanitarian activities including the newly established Mahabodhi Mahakaruna Hospice at the Mahabodhi Old Age Home.
Earlier, Founder-President MIMC Bhikkhu Sanghasena welcomed the US Ambassador with traditional sacred scarf and khataks.
Calling his visit to MIMC Campus as inspiring and educational, Ambassador Kenneth Juster said he was impressed with the work that Sanghasena has done in developing this entire centre to provide humanitarian services to the poor, homeless, old-aged and differently-abled people.
A group of students from the USA, who are on an exchange program called ‘Compassionate Leaders’ at MIMC also interacted with Kenneth Juster and Bhikkhu Sanghasena.
Ambassador hoped that in near future MIMC will send few students from Ladakh to study in the United States.
