Two-day national conference on NCEEITTET begins at GCET

JAMMU, Feb 19: The two- day 5th national conference and exhibition on “Emerging and Innovative Trends in Engineering Technology (NCEEITET),  organized by GCET Jammu in collaboration with Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur,  began today at GCET Campus, Chak Bhalwal, Jammu.
The conference was inaugurated by Education Minister Altaf Bukhari while MoS Education Priya Sethi was guest of honour on the occasion.
Altaf Bukhari, in his inaugural address, laid thrust upon the young aspiring engineers to recognize their respective strong points and special capabilities in using them to maximize value addition activities in the field of Science and Technology through such techno-innovations in the current fast changing liberalized economy era. He further reiterated that for a State like Jammu and Kashmir the need of the hour is to bring the young, fertile and innovative minds at the common platform to pool their resources to free this State from morass of last 25 years. The Minister also announced setting up of the laboratories with modern facilities and an auditorium for the college.
Priya Sethi emphasized that the main objectives of organizing such events must fulfill the aim of bringing industrial transformation through innovations. She motivated the young engineers to contribute in the process of employment generation by emerging as entrepreneurs in the national-building process.
Earlier in her welcome address, Principal GCET, Dr Sameru Sharma said that the purpose of organizing such events was to forge collaborative alliances amongst the amalgam of Academicians, Technocrats, Researchers, Students and Industry professionals in addition to the exchange of knowledge about the latest developments in the field of Science & Technology.
Prof S S Pathak from IIT Kharagpur, who was the organizing chairperson,  urged upon the Scientists and Engineers to come together to monitor the growth of the technology by encouraging research in development oriented and patent oriented problems for the betterment of the human society at large.
Shafat Ahmed Wani, Asstt GM Power Grid, apprised the audience about innovations and topologies in Power Grid Systems in India with a broader reference to the J&K State.
Manu Maudgal, Progra-mme Advisor (IGEN), stressed upon the importance of creating the Energy Efficient and Environment Friendly Systems to cope-up with the increasing demands of the energy resources.
The two day conference comprises of the Invited talks, plenary talks by eminent speakers and resource persons followed by two technical parallel sessions for the contributed paper presentations. Besides this, the student industry interactive session and workshop were the limelight of the day.
