Three held with demonetized currency

Srinagar, Dec 12: Police today said that it nabbed three persons with demonetized currency worth lakhs in Nigeen area of summer capital here.
A police spokesman said that during surprise checking at Ashai-Bagh in Nigeen area, the police apprehended three persons namely Bashir Ahmad Khan, Showket Ahmad Bhat and Bashir Ahmad Bhat.
The demonetised currency worth Rs. 13,63,500 was recovered from their possession.  Accordingly cognizance was taken under the Specified Bank Notes (cessation of liabilities) Act, 2017 & further investigation was taken up,” he added.
