JAMMU, Jan 8: A 3-day PMKVY RPL Yoga Instructor Programme, conducted by Sri Sri Rural Development Trust (SSRDP) at NITS Polytechnic, Miran Sahib, Jammu, concluded today.
MLA RS Pura, Dr Gagan Bhagat, was the chief guest on the closing ceremony while Savinder Gupta, Coordinator, SSRDP J&K and Art of Living AoL State Teachers’ Coordinator, and Dr Tarun Garg, senior AoL Yoga Teacher, were also present.
In his welcome address, Savinder Gupta said that RPL Yoga is a platform to provide recognition to the informal learning or learning through practice of Yoga to get equal acceptance as the formal levels of Yoga education.
“It provides an opportunity to receive certification from NSDC, MSDE. This certification shall certify them as yoga instructor under PMKVY which will be a nationally and internationally recognized certification”, he added.
He further said that SSRDP under the aegis of Art of Living is an authorized training partner of PMKVY and is also conducting short term training programs for fresh youths in Domestic Data Entry operator and Assistant Electrician Job role under PMKVY in Jammu.
Gupta informed that AoL SSRDP conducted RPL orientation on Yoga Instructor for 100 participants on 5th and 6th January and the assessment of the candidates was done on 7th January by the NSDC appointed assessors in all the three formats— theory, practical and oral. “This program happened for the first time in J&K. AoL teachers and those practicing yoga for more than 1 year participated in this course”, he added.
Dr Gagan Bhagat, while addressing the participants of the course, said, “He was deeply impressed and moved to see the people belonging to all sections of society and all age groups so enthusiastically participating in the course.
He further assured the organizers all his cooperation and support in promoting Skill India and organizing training programs in Yoga, Domestic Data Entry Operator and Electrician course.
