JAMMU, Oct 28: Champi-onships under Khelo India Scheme were played in different areas of the State.
JAMMU: State Level Table Tennis Championship under Khelo India Scheme got underway at Indoor Sports Complex MA Stadium here, in which participants from all over the State are participating.
The Championship is being organized by J&K Table Tennis Association in collaboration with J&K State Sports Council.
The championship was declared open by Ravi Kumar Kesar, Chairman Pollution Control Board in presence of large number of players and sports lovers. In his speech, he wished good luck to all the participants and encouraged them to play with zeal and sportsmanship.
Ajay Sharma, Organizing Secretary, Satbir Singh, Former International TT Player, Ajay Sharma, Rajan Sharma, Sunil Sharma, Er Saleem Bandey Secretary Poonch District TT Association, Lokesh Sharma, IP Singh, Naresh Gupta, Satish Gupta, Manager Indoor Complex, Vasu Dewan, Sandeep Khadotra, NIS Coach, Asad Sharma, Coach, Sheetal Gandotra, Sanjeev Gupta and Meenu Rajesh were also present on the occasion.
Under-17 boys (round-1), Pranay beat Parth Jain 2-1, Pratham Suri beat Manik Gupta 2-0, Lakshay Bajaj beat Vivek 2-1, Harman beat Keshav 2-1, Manit beat Dhruv 2-0, Gourav beat Keshav 2-1 and Kushant beat Vidhesh 2-0.
Under-17 girls (round-1), Aradhaya beat Bhavika 2-0, Gouri beat Zainab 2-0, Vidushi beat Anshika 2-0, Isha beat Shivangi 2-0, Presha beat Divyanshi 2-0, Niharika beat Syesha 2-1 and Mishti beat Riya 2-0.
KATHUA: The prize distribution function of District Kathua Athletics Competition was today held at Sports Stadium here. The Competition was organized by J&K Amateur Athletics Association in collaboration with J&K State Sports Council under Khelo India Scheme.
The medals and certificates were distributed by Ranjit Bhagat Chairman SSB J&K in presence of Ravi Singh, Divisional Sports Officer Jammu J&K State Sports Council, Sarwant Singh Gill General Secretary J&K Cycling Association, Sharat Chander Singh General Secretary J&K Athletics Association, Shamsher Singh, Manager Sports Stadium Kathua and Arun Kumar Secretary Kathua District Athletics Association.
In Girls 100 meters, Navdeep Kour, Raveena Akhtar and Palavi Devi bagged first, second and third prizes respectively, whereas in 400 meters, Shavina Akhtar, Muskan Bhau and Bhumika secured first, second and third prizes respectively.
In Girls Shotput, Kurshad Akhtar, Sanjana Sharma and Shavina Akhtar secured first, second and third prizes respectively, whereas in Long Jump (girls), Radhika Devi, Nishu Devi and Arti Choudhary bagged first, second and third prizes respectively.
In Boys (100 meters), Aaryan, Janu Sharma and Aman Kumar bagged first, second and third prizes respectively, whereas in 400 meters, Dinesh Lothra, Harsh Tomar and Varun Singh emerged winners.
In Boys 4 X 100 meters Relay: Rajvishi, Ankush Singh, Ankush Sharma and Aman Kumar secured first position, whereas the second position was clinched by Johny Lalotra, Rahul Singh, Parveen Kumar and Jashandeep Singh. The third position was bagged by Gurpinder Singh, Mukesh Singh, Rajesh Singh and Vinay Sharma.
In Boys Shotput, Sulkhan Lal, Aryan Singh and Sushant Chalotra bagged first, second and third prizes respectively, whereas in Long Jump (boys), Kamal Singh, Jashandeep Singh and Nikhil Namotra secured first, second and third prizes respectively.
KATHUA: Two days Kathua District Judo Championship organized by J&K Judo Association under the aegis of J&K State Sports Council under Khelo India Scheme concluded at District Coaching Centre here. Around 100 judokas from all over the district participated in the Championship.
Vikas Gupta General Secretary J&K Judo Association and Former Joint Secretary Judo Federation of India was the chief guest who distributed medals and certificates to the winners. The bouts were officiated by Shakti Gupta, Manish Chatwal and Pushp Thakur. Sahil Dogra was the Organizing Secretary.
In Girls (36 kgs), Riya, Priya and Kamni bagged first, second and third prizes respectively, whereas in 40 kgs, Pooja Devi, Superiya Sharma and Shabooran clinched first, second and third prizes respectively. In Girls (44 kgs), Radha, Mansi and Pooja Sharma bagged first, second and third prizes respectively, in 48 kgs, Neha, Preeti and Samriti clinched first, second and third prizes respectively and in Open Category, Laxmi, Charanjit and Anmol bagged first, second and third prizes respectively.
In Boys (40 kgs), Danish, Goutam and Umkeshwar bagged first, second and third prizes respectively, in 45 kgs, Arjun, Nitish and Shivam clinched first, second and third prizes respectively, in 50 kgs, Harsh Dev, Rizwan and Ketan bagged first, second and third prizes respectively, in 55 kgs, Irfan, Shivam and Sumit clinched first, second and third prizes respectively, in 60 kgs, Manoj, Ankush and Vansh secured first, second and third prizes respectively and in Open Category, Tarbjeet, Sumit and Pankaj bagged first, second and third prizes respectively.
SOPORE: Semifinal matches were played on the second day of State Kabaddi Championship being organized by Jammu and Kashmir Amateur Kabaddi Association in collaboration with J&K State Sports Council at Government College of Physical Education Gadoora. In the first semis, Kathua beat Gandarbal by 32-8 and in the second semifinal, Srinagar beat Anantnag by 40-26. In the summit clash, Kathua will lock horns with Srinagar.
On the occasion, Surinder Mohan, General Secretary, J&K Amateur Kabaddi Association, Sangram Singh, Treasurer, J&K Amateur Kabaddi Association and Gulzar Ahmed, Secretary, Srinagar Kabaddi Association were present.
The tournament is being organized under the supervision of Anil Gupta, President, J&K Amateur Kabaddi Association, Kuldeep Gupta, CEO, J&K Amateur Kabaddi Association and Sheikh Mohammad Shafi, Secretary District Kabaddi Association, Ganderbal.
The officials of the matches were MD Magray, Javed Ahmed, Firdousa Ahmed, Mushtaq Ahmed, Rahil Sultan, Mohammad Yaseen, Suriya Jabeen and Nazir Ahmed Matile.
