SVO presents challan against Municipal Veterinary Officer

JAMMU, Apr 25: Vigilance Organziation Jammu today presented challan against Manohar Lal, the then Municipal Veterinary Officer and his driver Jaswant Lal, who were caught red-handed on September 3, 2009 while accepting Rs 2000 as bribe.
According to the Vigilance case, on September 3, 2011 one Riyaz Ahmed Bhat, son of Gh Mohd Bhat of Christian Colony Jammu lodged a verbal report alleging that he was running a meat shop for last 4-5 years at Rail Head Complex Jammu.
On September 3, 2011, M L Gupta, Veterinary Health Officer JMC came to his shop and lifted the meat from the shop. When the complainant requested the accused officer to return the lifted meat the latter demanded Rs 2000 as bribe.
Acting on the complaint, the Vigilance sleuths laid a trap and caught accused persons red-handed while accepting bribe amount. Today, after completion of investigation challan was presented in the Court.
