JAMMU, Nov 21: With an aim to create awareness, to maximize enrollments of voters and ensure greater electoral participation, a Systematic Voter’s Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) campaign was organized today at Government Industrial Training Institute, Bhaddu.
A large number of students from various educational Institutions participated in the campaign.
Dr Manmeet Kumar, Tehsildar, Billawar and Ravinder Singh Bhatti, Superintendent, ITI Bhaddu spoke on the occasion. Dr Manmeet Kumar spoke at length about the role of SVEEP in educating and motivating the electorate to exercise their right to vote.
He said greater participation is key to stronger democracy and the main aim is to motivate voters so as to increase voter turnout and one of the best way is to educate and aware students who will become our most effective messengers.
Later, students rally was taken in this regard from the institute. Besides, students, local residents and officials of ITI Bhaddu participated in the rally.
