JAMMU, Mar 13: Volu-ntarily retired SRTC workers strongly criticised the State Govt for not providing them their pending arrears and pension benefits.
In a meeting of the VRS given SRTC workers held here today under the chairmanship of Dev Raj Bali, the members strongly condemned the attitude of the State authorities. They alleged that despite long struggle, the SRTC Management and even the Transport and Finance Departments have failed to mitigate their sufferings. They said that Central Govt has given benefits of 7th Pay Commission to the employees but it is unfortunate that State Govt was not providing the benefits of even 6th Pay Commission to them.
They also demanded release of COLA arears since 1999, 6th Pay Commission benefits since Ist Jan 2006 and pension benefits. The workers also decided to hold Sarkar Virodhi rally on March 20 at Press Club Jammu.
