Srinagar gets GPAT centre

Srinagar, Jan 9: All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) has decided to establish an additional centre for Graduate Pharmacy Aptitude Test (GPAT) 2014 at Srinagar.
A spokesman of Kashmir University said that AICTE Chief Coordinator (GPAT) cell, Dr Renu Bapna has in a written letter to the Vice Chancellor of the University Prof Talat Ahmad announced about the examination centre in Srinagar.
“This has reference to the request of your office for creating a new centre for GPAT 2014 at Srinagar. In the light of large number of candidates from the Valley being interested to appear in the above examination, AICTE has considered your request and had decided to create an additional centre at Srinagar,” the spokesman said quoting from the letter.
He said the notification about the Srinagar has been posted on GPAT website: www.aicte.gpat for information to the students.
Prof Ahmad has welcomed the AICTE decision.
“I am happy to learn that we have succeeded in prevailing upon the AICTE authorities to establish a centre in Srinagar also, and moreover for the benefit of the registered students who have already submitted their form and now wish to change their first choice of exam city to Srinagar, an option has been given for submitting their request through email tocustomercare@aicte-gpat.in, ” the spokesman quoted the VC as saying.
