SM Shishu Niketan donates Rs 20,000 to HelpAge India

JAMMU, Sept 28: SM Shishu Niketan Higher Secondary School, Anand Nagar, Patta Bohri, Jammu organized a special programme to handover a good amount of Rs  20, 549 in favour of HelpAge India (an NGO in India caring for elderly senior citizens).
Managing Director (MD) of the School, Parneesh Mahajan, Liaison Officer, Harvinder Singh Sihotra, Principal, Manikarnika Bhasin and Co-ordinator, Sonika Jain, were present on the occasion.
The amount in the form of a cheque was formally handed over to State Manager, HelpAge India, Sunita Santoshi, by MD of the school. The donated amount was contributed voluntarily by students and staff of the school.
In the programme, students presented a group song as a mark of respect towards their elders. Teachers also gave speech throwing light on the ill treatment with elders and how to rectify the problem.
