SIT set up in murder case

JAMMU, May 26: The Police Department today constituted a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to probe the murder case of Anita Suri, a senior teacher of AMT School, Jammu.
According to SSP Jammu, Sunil Gupta, the SIT comprised of eight members and is headed by SDPO City West, Pranav Mahajan.
The eight members of the SIT are Inspector Ashwani Khajuria (SHO, Police Station Bakshi Nagar), Sub Inspector (SI) Rahul Mahajan (Incharge, police post Sarwal), SI Deepak Thakur (Incharge, police post GMC Jammu), SI Showket Amin of police station Bakshi Nagar, SI Jaipal Singh of Police Station Nowabad, ASI Ghulam Rasool, Head Constable Rajinder Parihar and Senior Grade Constable Barkat Ali.
The SSP said that during last two days they have rounded up several suspects for questioning to unfold the mystery behind the murder of Anita Suri. He said several teams have also been dispatched in neighbouring States for questioning the suspects.
Pertinent to mention here that Anita Suri (a teacher of AMT School, Jammu) wife of late Vinod Gandotra, was found murdered at her residence in Reshamghar Colony, in the morning of May 24 and a case FIR No 67/2017 under Section 302 RPC was registered on the same day at police station Bakshi Nagar.
