UDHAMPUR, Aug 6: Burglars struck in a shop at Chabutra Bazar and a house at Bharat Nagar in Udhampur town, last night and decamped with cash as well as gold items.
According to Police, theft took place last late night at the shop of Onkar Nath Gupta son of Darshan Pal Gupta of Arya Samaj Gali Udhampur. The matter came into light this morning when the owner found lock broken and the article lying in disorder. The thieves had stolen Rs 15000 cash and some clothes.
On being informed, Police reached the spot and started investigation besides registering the case FIR number 366/17 under Section 457, 380 RPC.
In another theft case, thieves barged into the house of Dev Raj, son of Bachetru of Bharat Nagar Udhampur on the intervening nights of August 5-6 and stole Rs 10,000 cash as well as some gold, silver ornaments.
