SD Singh takes over as new Jammu IGP

JAMMU: Dr SD Singh Jamwal today took over as new Inspector General of Police here. Dr Singh is an IPS Officer of 1995 Batch J&K Cadre and replaced IGP Danesh Rana. Prior to his posting as IGP Jammu Zone, the new IGP has served the Police Department in various capacities as SDPO Kothibagh, Addl SP Doda, SP Leh, SP Kupwara, SSP Traffic, Jammu, SSP Poonch, SSP Vigilance, SSP Jammu, SSP SSG J&K, DIG Rajouri -Poonch Range, DIG, SKPA Udhampur and thereafter proceeded on deputation to Central Government in Intelligence Bureau and later in Ministry of External affairs as Counsellor in High Commission of Indian in Colombo, Sri Lanka for the past 6 years.

Mr Rana gave detailed briefing to the incoming officer on emerging challenges on account of Crime, Militancy, Law and order of Jammu. (AGENCIES)
