Sanskrit scholars highlight demands before Dy CM

SRINAGAR, Nov 9:  Shri Kailakh Jyotish Avim Vedic Sansthan Trust president Mahant Rohit Shastri  called on Dy Chief Minister Dr Nirmal Singh  at Srinagar and submitted him a memorandum seeking to connect Sanskrit language with Digital and Skill India Mission.
Rohit Shastri, accompanied by other Sanskrit scholars,  also demanded increase  in intake capacity of the seats at Mata Vaishno Devi Sanskrit Gurukul Katra by hundred so that more number of young scholars come out and contribute in development of Sanskrit language. He  also demanded setting up of a separate Sanskrit Department in SMVD University and Central University Jammu to provide a platform facilitating education and research in the field of this ancient and culturally rich language.  He  also demanded upgradation of Shri Raghunath Sanskrit Maha Vidhalaya Birpur to a college level institute.
Dy CM assured  that he would take up these demands before State and Central Governments for necessary action.
