SAMBA, Dec 16: A Police Party of Police Station Samba headed by Inspector Chanchal Singh, SHO Police Station Samba during naka checking on Samba Mansar Road near Nud intercepted one Truck bearing registration No. JK02AD-1873 which was on way from Kashmir to Punjab loaded with Apple and during checking of the truck police recovered 100 Kg poppy straw from its tool box.
Driver of the truck namely Bashir Ahmed son of Abdul Razzaq Lone resident of Kelam Bojh Village, Kulgam was arrested on spot. The vehicle along with contraband item seized on spot.
In this regard case FIR No. 278/2017 U/S 8/15/29/25 NDPS Act stands registered at PS Samba against the accused and others and investigation started. The said operation was launched by District Police Samba under close supervision of Deepak Digra, DySP Hqrs Samba and under overall supervision of Anil Magotra, , SSP Samba.
