Salal Power Station organizes training program for farmers

REASI, Jan 29: Salal Power Station of NHPC Limited organized a one-day training program for farmers with focus on promotion of organic/less water farming’ at Dharmari.
Zafer Iqbal, Naib Tehsildar, who was the chief guest, inaugurated the program by lighting the traditional lamp. About 98 farmers from various villages of district Reasi attended the programme.
In his welcome address, Manager (HR) Salal Power Station, Jugal Sharma, said that Organic farming provides chemical free, nutritious food items for humans and thus stressed the need for organic farming.
Zafar Iqbal expressed happiness to have team of scientists from SKUAST at Dharmari itself and advised the farmers to listen patiently to the team members from SKUAST and clear their doubts with respect to Organic farming.
A team of six scientists led by Vinod Kumar, Scientist, SKUAST took the sessions and interacted with the farmers. All the sessions remained interactive throughout.
Anil Koul (ADAO), Vinod Kumar (SKUAST scientist), Prem Singh (Sarpanch, Thuroo), Kewal Singh (Sarpanch, Gari), Talib Hussain (Sarpanch, Thuroo (A), Narain Singh (Sarpanch, Maslote), Johan Mohd (Sarpanch, Dharmari), also attended the programme.
