Ramzan reviews availability of essentials, LPG in Valley

SRINAGAR, Dec 28: To review and take stock of essential commodities and availability of LPG cylinders in the Valley, the Minister for CA&PD and Transport, Choudhary Mohammad Ramzan visited FCI, Lethpora and the HP Bottling plant, Pampore.
Besides taking review of stock and supply items being made available by the CA&PD Department under PDS, the position of rice and wheat at FCI godowns was also reviewed.
At FCI Lethpora, the Minister was informed that about 17000 metric tons of rice and 9357 metric tons of wheat have been kept in stock for the Valley.
Ch. Ramzan said that officers of CA&PD department have been directed to provide good quality of food grains to the people besides strict instructions have been issued for ensuring availability of food grains in the inaccessible areas of the valley in winter months.
The Minister directed the fair price outlet dealers to distribute ration by adhering to proper norms and guidelines so that people do not suffer at all in this regard. He also directed for taking stern action against erring dealers and profiteers.
Later, the Minister visited Bottling Plant, Pampore to check the availability of LPG and distribution through various gas distribution agencies. He was informed that as many as 30 lakh LPG cylinders have been kept in stock and for the distribution among consumers of the Valley.
Ch. Ramzan appealed people to adopt proper guidelines for judicious use of LPG for domestic utility.
The Minister directed that stern action as warranted under different provisions of law will be initiated including initiation of penal proceedings against them and cancellation of their licenses. He said that Rs. 1.40 crore have been realized from the erring gas dealers.
Director CA&PD, Kashmir, Additional Deputy Commissioner Pulwama, Area Manager FCI, Plant Manager HPCL and Senior Sales Manager HPCL accompanied.
