Political Parties celebrate Republic Day

JAMMU, Jan 27: Various Political Parties and their frontal organizations celebrated Republic Day and organised functions in this connection across the State.
Congress Party Workers organised an impressive function at Block headquarters of Congress at Bishnah in connection with the Republic Day celebrations where, former minister and senior Congress leader Gulchain Singh Charak unfurled National flag in presence of BCC members besides prominent party leaders other people of the area. Mr Charak congratulated the people on this occasion and paid glowing tributes to the freedom fighters. He also cautioned the people to remain cautious from the designs of anti-national and communal elements. Mr Charak also unfurled flag at yet another function at Arnia town and also led a procession in the market demanding tehsil status, separate block a degree college, upgradation of hospital  an ITI in the town.
DCC Udhampur  organised a function in the town to mark the occasion. District president of the party  Bhupinder Singh Pathania unfurled the tri-colour. A `Parbhat Feri’ was also taken out by the Congress activists in the town in this connection. Senior leader Brij Mohan Sharma, Vijay Manhas, Shakeel Shah, Sham Samotra and others were also present in the function.
Indian National Trade Union Congress, a frontal organization of Congress Party also organised a function at Company Bagh here under the leadership of  state president ( INTUC), Shiv Kumar Sharma. Mr Sharma along with Chief Engineer PHE K K Gupta unfurled the national flag and paid tributes to the national heroes. A Large number of INTUC members were present on the occasion.
INTUC Unit Udhampur also organised a function in connection with the Republic Day at PHE Station Barian. District president of the unit Som Nath along with Executive Engineer PHE, Udhampur A K Anand unfurled the national flag. Sweets were distributed among the children and others present on the occasion. Several Congress leaders and party workers also participated.
Chairman Legislative Council, Amrit Malhotra unfurled tri-colour in several functions held at Shahidi Chowk, Gumat Bazar, Pir Mitha and Parade here. Several Congress leaders and activists besides locals attended the functions. He congratulated the people on the occasion and paid tributes to freedom fighters.
Flag hoisting ceremony was also held at Bakshi Nagar Market Jammu on the 65th Republic Day. Secretary PCC, Anil Chopra unfurled the National flag., Sweets were also distributed on the occasion. Youth Congress Ramnagar also organised a function at Rani Park in the town. PYC general secretary R S Pathania hoisted tricolor and congratulated people on this occasion. Senior Congress leader Vinod Khajuria was also present.
Senior Congress leader Vikram Malhotra in a function organised at Gujjar Naar hoisted National flag. While speaking on the occasion Mr Malhotra congratulated the people  and appealed them to keep the spirit of patriotism alive in them. He also recalled the supreme sacrifices of the national heroes.
Congress Ex-corporatar Namrata Sharma hoisted tri-colour in a function held at Sainik Colony today. She recalled the supreme sacrifices of the country men for the cause of independence and lauded the role of  top leaders and intellectuals connected with the framing of Indian Constitution.
Bharatiya Janata Party, Leh organised an impressive function at district unit headquarters of the party and hoisted National flag. Acting district president Ven Lama Lobzang Nyantak, Councillor LAHDC unfurled national flag. The gathering  sang National Anthem and  raised slogans Bharat Mata ki Jai. Lama Lobzang congratulated the people of Ladakh on this occasion and described India as great democratic nation. A large number of people Thikse village also joined on the occasion.
People’s Democratic Party  celebrated  Republic Day in a function organised at Party headquarters Gandhi Nagar here today. Former MP and  vice president Trilok Singh Bajwa hoisted tricolor on the occasion in presence of several senior leaders including Ved Mahajan, Daman Bhasin, Shanti Devi, Depender Kour, Ch Hussain Ali Wafa,  Hamid Choudhary, Fallail Singh, R K Bali, Maj Gen ( Retd) R S Jamwal, Ashok Jogi,  Suresh Sharma, Rafiq Malik and others. Several senior leaders also spoke on the occasion and congratulated to the people. Another function was organised by the party at Balmiki Colony Gandhinagar under the leadership of Sham Singh.
Bahujan Samaj Party  organised a function in connection with the Republic Day at its party office Narwal Pain Satwari here today.  State president Tulsi Dass Langeh hoisted the national flag in presence of other senior leaders  Rattan Lal Chargotra, Tilak Raj Bhagat, Rakesh Wazir, A K Manawa,  Pawan Gupta  and  Dr Harjeet. The senior party leaders and other members present on the occasion paid their tributes to national heroes and recalled their sacrifices.
J&K National Conference also organised a function in connection with the Republic Day celebrations at Talab Tillo here. The party leader from youth wing,  Ankush  Abrol  unfurled the National flag at JMC Park of the area. Other party leaders  including BR Dogra,  Rajiv Gupta, Ragnunath Singh, Vikrant Singh and Amit Sharma were also present.
Nationalist Congress Party also celebrated Republic Day with enthusiasm in a function held at Shastri Nagar Chowk here. Former Minister and State president of the NCP Th Randhir Singh unfurled the National flag. He along with his party members paid rich tributes to the freedom fighters. The function was held under the leadership of Gaurav Kapoor, State president NYC  youth wing of the NCP.
Socialistic Democratic Party  celebrated Republic Day with great enthusiasm at Gole Gujral, Talab Tilloo here. State president of the party Dr Darakshan Andrabi unfurled the National flag.  She along with other office bearers and party workers paid rich tributes to the freedom fighters and recalled their sacrifices. She congratulated the people on the occasion.The sweets were also distributed among the people on the occasion. Ajay Singh, Sanjay Manhas, Gursagar Singh and others were also present.
Janata Dal Secular also organised a function  in this connection at party headquarters Raghunath Bazar, Jammu. State president Masat Nath Yogi hoisted the national flag. Party leaders and workers were also present on the occasion. Mr Yogi congratulated the people and recalled sacrifices of freedom fighters.
Janata Dal United senior leader, Mohani Mohan in a function organised at Kotla in Udhampur, unfurled the National flag. A large number of party activists including Asha Koul, Pinki and other locals of the area were present on the occasion. The sweets were also distributed among the people  and children present there.
National Democratic Party  also celebrated Republic Day function with enthusiasm at the party office BC Road, Jammu.  State president of the party, Ravi Bakshi hoisted the National flag and paid tributes to the freedom fighters in presence of  party office bearers including Ravinder Singh, N K Attri and other members. The sweets were also distributed among the people present there.
Senior Congress leader, Maheshwar Singh unfurled the National Flag at Paloura. On the occasion, he highlighted the importance of the day and said that declaration of Indian Republic on January 26, 1950 was the first milestone in the march of the nation towards achieving the heights of democracy and development on all fronts.
