JAMMU, Nov 12: Chenani police foiled child marriage by rescuing a minor girl.
As per police sources, an information was received by Chenani police that a family is getting their 14-year-old daughter married to a man, who was double of her age in Dhanas area.
After getting information, police team rushed to the spot and stopped the marriage. The girl has been sent to Nari Niketan Udhampur.
The girl’s family was counseled by the police team led by SHO Inspector Paramjit Singh under the supervision of SDPO Chenani Chanderjit Singh, Additional SP Udhampur Feisel Qureshi and SSP Udhampur Rayees Mohammad Bhat.
