KATRA, Apr 4: Foiling an attempt of liquor smuggling to the holy town, Police today arrested a bootlegger and seized 37 pouches of illicit liquor from his possession.
A Police team, headed by SHO Katra, Inspector Sanjeev Sharma, under the supervision of SDPO Dr Ashok Sharma, laid a special patrolling at main Bazar Katra and intercepted one Scooty bearing registration number .JK02BH/4107, which was coming towards Katra from Jammu.
During checking, the Police team recovered 37 poly pouches, measuring 250/250 ml each of J&K Excise liquor from the possession of Rohit Kumar of Bahu Fort Jammu.
Police arrested the accused and also seized the Scooty as well as liquor pouches.
In this connection, a case FIR No. 52/2016 U/S 48-A Act, 188/RPC has been registered at Police Station Katra.
