JAMMU, Nov 13: Punjabi Lekhak Sabha (PLS), Jammu organized its fortnightly literary meet.
Surinder Singh Seerat, a well known Punjabi Ghazal writer, novelist and short story writer, hailing from Kashmir and presently settled in California, presided over the function.
Dr Monojit, the newly elected President of PLS Jammu welcomed all the guests and writers. He made some important announcements in respect of executive body and execution of the programmes.
Amar Singh Kuka and Surinder Neer were nominated as Senior Vice-President and Vice President respectively. The nominated members of the working committee of PLS were Bhupinder Singh Bhargav, Ichhupal Singh, Pyasa Anjum, TS Premee, Resham Kaur Resham and Swami Antarneerav.
Dr. Baljeet Singh Raina has been nominated as General Secretary, Pritam Singh Anjaan as Literary Secretary, Hardeep Singh Deep as Organizing Secretary, Jang S Verman as Press Secretary and Devinder Singh Vishavnagrik as Treasurer.
A session of poetry recitation with the recitation of poetry by Dr Baljeet Singh Raina, Devinder Singh Vishavnagrik, Pritam Singh Anjaan, Amar Singh Kuka, Piara Singh Dhanjal, Balwinder Singh Deep, Harjit Singh Uppal, Resham Kaur Resham, Swami Antarneerav, Suraj Singh Suraj, Surinder Singh Seerat was conducted in the meeting. In their poetry, the poets reflected their concern about the issues of social awareness, values and satire on the prevailing conditions and the political system.
In the end, Dr Baljeet Singh Raina extended the vote of thanks.
