UDHAMPUR, Oct 25: PHE Employees Association, Udhampur today held a protest demonstration in PHE Complex, Udhampur, under the chairmanship of senior vice-president, PHE Employees Association, Jammu Province, Som Nath, in protest against non-acceptance of regularization policy of PHE and other daily wagers working in different departments.
The protestors expressed resentment that Cabinet Sub-Committee consisting of all the ministers except Sham Lal Sharma refused to accept the regularization policy. They alleged that Kashmir centric Ministers are showing a very little interest in regularization of daily wagers in Jammu region.
Holding black flags in their hands, the protesting employees raised slogans against the Government and its Ministers who refused to accept regularization policy.
While addressing the protesting employees, Som Nath appealed the Government to take up the matter of regularization policy of daily rated workers seriously and threatened to call out a hunger strike in case it does not accept regularization policy.
Alleging that regularization policy is the right of daily wage workers, casual labourers, CP workers and need based employees, he urged the Government to shun discrimination with Jammu region in the regularization policy.
Others who addressed included Vijay Sharma, Suraj Parkash, Jagdish Magotra, Charan Dass, Makhan Chand, Janait Ali, Rajinder Kumar, Shiv Sharma, Dara Singh, Jabbar Singh etc.
