RAJOURI, Dec 26:  The relatives of the deceased Wasim Raja from Darhal and other villagers today held strong protest demonstration against Rajouri police and blocked Rajouri-Darhal road near Kheora here today.
The agitating people were demanding handing over of  mysterious death  case of Wasim  to Crime Branch Jammu as the  Darhal Police and even the SIT constituted   by Rajouri police failed to work out the mysterious death case which was projected as  accident by police.
Earlier, some family members and relatives of  the youth went to Darhal Police Station and accused police of taking bribe for releasing  some youth detained in this connection. They also allegedly ran-sacked furniture there and alleged that police was trying to save some accused persons involved. They alleged that it was blind murder and police was trying to give twist to it.
Later, they moved to the Rajouri town and raised barricades near District Hospital  and started protest at around 3.40 PM. They also burnt tyres  and started protest demonstration. The road remained blocked for about two hours.  SHO, Rajouri went to the spot but the people did not clear the road.
Later, Addl SP Mohd Yousuf and   DSP headquarters arrived there. They tried to pacify them and maintained that DySP Zakir Shaheen Mirza and I/CC PP Peeri, SI Abdul Majid were included in  the SIT on their request to solve this case and the police was working on it sincerely. Even if they are not satisfied, they can write to the IGP or DGP for handing over case to the Crime Branch. Then the people lifted dharna and cleared the road at around 5.45 PM.
SSP, Rajouri, Suleman Choudhary said that SIT was constituted on the demand of the family members and relatives of the youth Wasim Raja. He said an able police officer Zakir Shaheen was given this task. He said if the family is not satisfied, they are free to write to the DGP or even the IGP for transfer of case to the other wing of State police.
