MENDHAR, Sept 1: People from Dalora and adjoining areas today held protest demonstration against PDD at Uchhad and blocked Mendhar-Poonch road for about three hours today.
Reports said the irate villagers shouting slogans against PDD came out on the road at Uchhad and raised barricades on the road at around 7 am today. They staged dharna on the road started protest. The movement of the vehicles came to halt on this border road.
They alleged that electric transformers at Dalora went out of order over a month back and till today, the PDD staff of the area has failed to restore the same or get it replaced. The people are badly suffering due to it.
Later, on the assurance of Tehsildar Mankote and SHO Mendhar, the people lifted dharna and allowed movement of vehicles at around 10 am.
